The current projects include:

The Prognomics Project

The aim of this project is to study and develop tools for survival estimation and outcome prediction, based on large-scale database federation and data pooling. More

The WebMicroscope Project

The web-based virtual microscopy techniques (www.webmicroscope.net) developed by our research group are currently being used for several purposes. More

Projects

The current projects build upon several informatics projects initiated by our research group during the last few years. Tools for web-based statistical analysis

(www.finprog.org) and virtual microscopy (www.webmicroscope.net) are some of the applications that have been developed.

The web-based statistical reporting tools developed by us have been applied to cancer data within several translational research projects during the last few years. Last year a “next generation” reporting tool developed by our research group was integrated into a new Quality Registry for Cancer Care within the Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa, which will serve a population of 1.4 million people.

These methods are further studied and developed, and could be implemented on a national level within quality registries for cancer care.
