The main objective of the Biomedical Informatics Research Group is to study and develop methods based on advanced information technology for medical purposes.

The area of research can be described as a blend of translational bioinformatics, molecular-genetic epidemiology, biostatistics and imaging informatics.

The three main directions are multivariate prognostic models, cancer data management methods and web-based virtual microscopy.

We are currently exploring automated tissue microarray analytics, computer vision for cancer tissue classification as well as large-scale predictive modeling within genetic epidemiology.
